=>Maintenance Mode: Turn on your Wii system and hold [+]+[-] until the
warning system vanishes and the main menu appears. The system will notify
you that the Wii is in Maintenance Mode. This appears to entirely disable
the Message Board until you return to the main menu from a game or after
resetting. This is useful if you have a corrupted message which is making
the Wii freeze upon startup.
=>Virtual Console Interlace Mode: Some Virtual Console games have problems
with some televisions, especially PAL format ones. If you start up a game
and your television refuses to display an image, you should be able to
press [HOME] and pull up the Home Menu and digital game manual. From here,
many games let you turn on a "virtual" interlace mode. Plug a Nunchuck
controller into the Wii Remote, then press Z+A+[2]. To switch back to the
normal display mode, press Z+A+[1].
