=>Biggoron Sword: To get this super sword, which does twice the damage of
the Master Sword, you need to complete adult Link's trading sequence. You
must first talk to the chicken lady in Karariko Village and get an egg.
When it hatches, search the houses in the village for Talon and wake him
with the egg. Return to the chicken lady and get a purple chicken. Head to
the Lost Woods to the room with the lone Skull Kid and use the chicken to
wake the sleeping young man. Take the mushroom to the lady in the potion
shop (in Karariko Village in the day, enter the standard bottle shop and go
through the side passage to find the potion shop) and she will give you
medicine. Return to the Lost Woods and you will get the Poacher's Saw.
Now, take the Poacher's Saw and head to Gerudo Valley. Once you cross the
bridge (using either Epona or the Long Shot), give the saw to the foreman
and you'll get a broken Goron Blade. Head to Death Mountain and climb to
the very top to speak with Biggoron. He'll send you on a quest for
eyedrops. Head to Zora's Domain, thaw King Zora with a bottle of blue flame
and he'll give you an Eyeball Frog. Ride to Lake Hylia, give the frog to
the researcher, and you'll get the eyedrops. Finally, return to the top
of Death Mountain and Biggoron will begin work on the new sword. After a
few "days" of game time, it will be ready.
Please note that if you use the Ocarina to warp during any of the timed
deliveries, the items will spoil.
=>Bottles: Winning Talon's Chicken hunt game will reward you with the first
bottle. Another bottle is in Lake Hylia; you can collect it once you get
the Silver Scale in Zora's Domain. Collect all the chickens for the chicken
lady in Karariko Village for a third bottle. As adult link, ride Epona and
gather all 10 special Poes (the ones that appear when you are riding Epona)
in Hyrule Field, then trade them to the Poe salesman in the corrupted
Hyrule Castle town to get the final bottle.
=>Free Lon Lon Milk: When you find a cow, play Epona's Song for it and you
can fill an empty bottle with Lon Lon milk.
=>Fire Arrow: After you complete the Water Temple, look for an island on Lake
Hylia with an inscription about shooting the morning light. Carefully aim
between the two guideposts and shoot an arrow directly into the sun.
=>Ice Arrow: Once you finish the Gerudo Training Area you will be rewarded
with the Ice Arrows. Be sure to use the Eye of Truth in the room of locked
doors to search the ceiling for a hidden room.
=>Diving Scales: For the Silver Scale, complete the Zora diving game in
Zora's Domain. For the Golden Scale, play the fishing game as adult Link
and land a fish 15 pounds or greater.
=>Eye of Truth: As an adult, go to the windmill in the village and show your
ocarina to the man inside to learn the Song of Storms. Return as a child
and play the song to make the windmill speed up and drain the well. Enter
the well to find a minidungeon containing the Eye of Truth.
=>Map Toggle: Press [L] to turn the on-screen map on or off.
=>Giant Enemies: When fighting any regenerating field enemy (Stalchilds,
Leevers, birds, etc.), stay in one place and keep killing off the monsters.
After you slay about 5 waves of creatures, a giant version will appear and
attack. The giant creature looks just like the ordinary creatures, but
killing it will yield you more cash.
=>Extra Bottles: Want 5, 6, 7 or more bottles? You can change any of your
C button inventory items into a bottle, but you may not be able to get the
item back. Equip an empty bottle and prepare to catch a fish, bug, or fairy
with it. Swing your bottle and press [START] while it is in midair, just
before you catch the item in your bottle. On the sub screen, replace the
bottle in your C button with another item, such as the Claim Check. Unpause
the game and Link will catch the item, then hold a filled bottle in the air.
This bottle has replaced your item, the Claim Check... or anything else.
Remember, you might not be able to reclaim the item you switched for the
bottle, so DON'T SAVE if you replace something vital with a bottle.
->Get a Cow: After you get Epona, return to the ranch and challenge Malon to
a race. If you win, a cow will be put inside your house in the forest.
=>Scarecrow's Song: Some items in the game can't be reached unless you use
the Scarecrow's Song. As an adult, go to Lake Hylia and play your Ocarina
for the scarecrow, but REMEMBER THE TUNE YOU PLAY. If he liked it, you can
play that tune in various places in the game to call the scarecrow. If you
call one up somewhere, use your hookshot to pull yourself up to him, thus
reaching areas you normally can't.
=>Ocarina Notes: Want to play your favorite tunes on the Ocarina? Here is the
musical scale...use the STICK for U and D.
C = A+D A = cR sharps - [R]
D = A B = cL flats - Z
E = A+U C = cU+D
F = cD D = cU
G = cD+U E = cU+U
=>Epona Glitch: After Ganon knocks the master sword out of your hand in the
final battle, save the game and press RESET. Start your game and you will
find that the B button icon has nothing in it. If you hop on your horse
Epona, you will be able to use any of the C buttons while on horseback.
. Deku Nuts will temporarily detach yourself from Epona. Try walking
into Lake Hylia like this. Also, pick up a plant, let yourself remount
Epona, and when you dismount you should be invincible. Play Saria's song
when off the horse to begin floating over Epona.
. Use Fayore's Wind while on Epona and you can use the warp magic anywhere
you can ride Epona to.
* Note: It seems that this glitch may only work on the gold carts and the
first batch of grey ones. The later versions of the grey carts seem to
have fixed this glitch.
=>Gossip Stones: Do you see those cute little stones with the Sheikah symbol
on them? Aren't they annoying? You can whack them with various weapons for
some special effects, talk to them while wearing the Mask of Truth for
gossip (which is mostly useless), or play Zelda's Lullaby to make a
fairy appear.
=>Fairy Tricks: As young Link, take out a Deku Stick and try to touch a
butterfly with the tip of the stick. If you do this correctly, the
butterfly will transform into a Red Fairy, which will refill all your life
and magic energy.
. Unlimited Fairy Power: Stand right next to the exit of a screen, then
release a fairy from a bottle. If you are close enough to the exit, the
act of opening the bottle will cause you to exit the screen and enter
the next area. Your energy will be refilled but the fairy will still be
in the bottle.
* Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of a Gossip Stone to make a fairy appear.
=>Skulltula Bonuses: There are 100 Golden Skulltulas in the game. As you
kill them and collect their tokens, you can visit the Skulltula house in
Kakariko Village and collect rewards.
* 10 Tokens: Adult Wallet (holds 200 rupees)
* 20 Tokens: Stone of Agony (rumble pak alerts you of secrets. Play the
Song of Storms to open some secret grotto holes)
* 30 Tokens: Giant's Wallet (holds 500 rupees)
* 40 Tokens: 20 Bombchus
* 50 Tokens: Piece of Heart
* 100 Tokens: 200 Rupees (which you can collect as often as you wish)
->Easy Skulltulas: Find any underground grotto with a golden Skulltula. The
Hole under the tree inside the castle gate is a good place (near where
Talon was sleeping). As young link, with the boomerang, play the Song of
Storms and drop into the hole. Now, kill the Skulltula, but don't collect
the token.
Stand right in front of the exit warp location, then toss the boomerang
at the token. As soon as the boomerang collects the token, exit the grotto.
If you can return to the surface before the "You got a..." message appears,
you should get a token added to your total even though the game will still
think that Skulltula is alive. You can drop back into the hole and collect
the token as much as you like.
->Assorted Tips: Here are some hints and tips that may help you out with this
game.
* Deku Nut Uses: These can stun more enemies than you might think. Use them
in Jabu-Jabu's Belly to knock the Biris and Baris to the ground and to
pop the Bubbles. Deku Nuts can also extinguish the flaming Skull Bubbles
and work well against Lizstalfos. Try stunning Ganon with them, too.
* Bottle Reflection: When fighting Ganondorf, you can swing your bottle to
reflect his energy balls.
* Sign Repair: If you slash a signboard, playing Zelda's Lullaby will patch
it up.
. Lon Lon Chicken Game: Before you agree to play the game with Talon, toss
all the chickens into the straw pile in the corner. When you play, it
should be easier to find the new chickens he tosses out.
* Killer Chickens: Whack a chicken until it goes nuts. A bevy of poultry
will attack you.
* Running Man Note: If the man in Hyrule Field challenges you to a race,
you can't beat him. It is impossible.
* Water Temple Note: Once you defeat Dark Link in the Water Temple, enter
the next room and collect your treasure. Be sure to exit via the hole
right behind the chest. This hole is often missed.
* Cameos: Aside from the Bowser pendants on Malon and Talon, Mario
characters make a guest appearance inside the castle. While a child,
enter the castle courtyard (where you meet Princess Zelda) and look
through the window on the right wall to see some hidden pictures. Also,
try shooting at the pot in the right wall.
